Portfolio Project

Hand-Coded Responsive Website
A temporary personal portfolio site that demonstrates my CSS, HTML & Javascript coding abilities.

CLIENT
Lauren Aldrich (Myself)

Artist and budding graphic designer who is interested in promoting her skills to those in need of a graphic designer.

CLIENT NEEDS
At the time that I created this website, I was lacking a personal website to showcase my latest graphic design work, though I had a site for my painting work of yesteryear.
The time had not come for me to build my official, full portfolio site, but I needed a way to show my graphic design work online to let the world know that I was not only a painter anymore.
Additionally, I needed to showcase my new web coding abilities.

SOLUTION
I utilized my understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript to create a functioning, live, responsive site.
It is a simple, single-page scrolling website offering selections of my work, grouped by category.
Each section features thumbnails of my work which launch a lightbox gallery, play a YouTube video, or link to an interface prototype when clicked.

In addition, I utilized my knowledge of page layout, Gestalt principles, information hierarchy, and UI/UX design patterns to create this site.
I embedded Google search engine optimization code so that if my name is searched, this website showing my graphic design work will pop up, rather than just my painting website.

To finish it off, I added a touch of my personal branding, which is evident in the typography and color choices found in the site.
